About
Stylefighting Ape by Richard Wimmer

Biography

Where were you when you designed your short: Sitting on the couch of my living-room -  doing sketches in my blackbook while listening to a trash-tv show.

Brief outline of what you do: I work as a self-employed graphic designer and illustrator preferable in the fields of sport and lifestyle. Also doing the donkey-work for enough cash. Always looking for progressive companies to work with! Graphic Design became part of my life over the years. What could be better than turning you hobby into your business.

Boardshort Design: I included my signature Character (the Ape Stylefighter) into a surf related environment - the ocean. The tentacles are great design elements in  the way they can be wraped around the leg. Colorwise, I went for an 80´s look.

Workflow: I use a scanned sketch to finish it up in Illustrator.

What one website do you have to check every morning before you start work: my personal site but I check www.computerarts.co.uk on a regular basis.

Last time I was at the beach was: Nizza on the Cote D´azur.

What kind of animal would you least like to be attacked by: My Stylefighting Ape and White Sharks.

Boardshorts should be: Cool and should destract from my bad surfing skills.

In my school days, I always liked to draw: naked female teachers.

Best thing about summer is: The sun makes the pimples on your whole body go away.

One way we can help out the planet is: Think about the future generations and act accordingly.

If I could create my work anywhere it would be: On Mars.
